Getting Here

Elysian Park is bordered by the Echo Park neighborhood to the west, the Golden State Freeway (Interstate 5) to the north, the Los Angeles River to the east and Chinatown to the south. The Pasadena Freeway (Highway 110) cuts through the park’s southeast side.

The West Side

(West of Stadium Way)

There is formal parking along the Avenue of the Palms and Academy Road entrances, and ample street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. Walnut Hill has a few spots below and up top.

Park Entry points for the West are:

  • Scott Avenue

  • Morton Avenue/Academy Road

  • A big lot at the end of the Avenue of Palms

  • Walnut Hill is its own area unconnected (as yet) to the main west side.

The East Side

(East of Stadium Way)

The original part of the park is the East Side. The former grand entrance is on Broadway. As you travel on the paved roads throughout this area you’ll find both formal parking lots as well as plenty of space to park along the side.

Park Entry points for the East are:

  • Broadway

  • Solano Canyon Drive

  • Park Row Drive

The map below is from the 2006 Master Plan. It indicates where existing formal parking is (series of red lines). The majority of spots marked with a “P” do also have parking.
