A Park Sanctuary

The Marian Harlow Grove

After this memorial grove was planted decades ago to honor neighbors who had passed away, the Citizens Committee to Save Elysian Park was entrusted with the grove’s care and survival.

The Marian Harlow Grove is located on the west side of Elysian Park, not far from Park Drive. You’ll recognize it right away: it’s a peaceful spot where hikers enjoy the shade and take in the downtown skyline view. It’s also a popular spot for dogs to get a fresh drink of water.

Thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers (AKA Waterbugs), the Marian Harlow Grove stays beautiful throughout the year. We have also introduced and nurtured several native plants, from coastal oak trees to sagebrush to Monarch-friendly milkweed.
