Milkweed Planting with Project Monarch
We’re partnering with Project Monarch LA to bring a new monarch butterfly habitat to Elysian Park—and we need your help! On Sunday, November 2, we’ll break ground on the project by putting 150 native milkweed into the soil. These plants are essential to supporting monarchs in every stage of their life cycle, and we need all hands on deck to get them established.
Please bring a hat, water bottle, and gloves if you have them. We’ll have coffee and water available for all volunteers.

Elysian Park Work Day
Join Friends of Elysian Park and our partners at Test Plot for an afternoon of pruning, watering, and other maintenance as needed. All volunteers welcome. See details here.

Join our monthly gardening session at Test Plot’s burn scar site in Elysian Park. Bring a hat, gloves, and water. No RSVP necessary.

Flag Day Remembrance at Victory Memorial Grove
Join us this Flag Day for a ceremony honoring the World War I veterans commemorated at Victory Memorial Grove in Elysian Park. The program will feature:
A history of the Grove, shared through period readings
A presentation by a President Woodrow Wilson historical reenactor
The LA County Fire Department Honor Guard
A wreath-laying ceremony
Light refreshments
